Spicy Tahini Dressing

spicy tahini dressing

If you’re looking to level up your veg, this spicy tahini dressing is a game-changer.

My motto is that there is no such thing as boring veg, you just need to know how to make them more exciting – and a flavour-packed dressing is one of my favourite ways to do that!

Simply drizzle this spicy tahini dressing over some veg to effortlessly transform any meal. Remember, eating more plants doesn’t have to be boring and flavourless!

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • Tahini – As well as being a delicious base for any dressing, this sesame seed paste is also a great source of plant-based calcium. So if you follow a plant-based diet, make sure to include some tahini to help boost your calcium intake.
  • Hot sauce – This Encona hot pepper sauce is my favourite hot sauce and I think it works particularly well in this dressing. But if you prefer sriracha or a different brand of hot sauce, feel free to give these a go too.
  • Chilli flakes – Adjust the amount of these depending on your spice preference!
  • Lime juice – Freshly squeezed lime juice is perfect for balancing out the spice.
  • Salt – If you have already pre-salted your vegetables, you can add a bit less or completely remove this from the recipe.

How to Serve This Spicy Tahini Dressing

There are endless ways to serve this spicy tahini dressing, but to give you some inspiration, here are some of my favourites:

  • Over roasted vegetables such as peppers, carrots and tenderstem broccoli
  • Drizzled over a tofu stir-fry
  • Mixed with a side salad of dark leafy greens and edamame

How to Store

This dressing can be whipped up in a few minutes, but if you want to store it to use later, it will stay fresh for a couple of days in the fridge. Though you may need to add a small amount of water to get the consistency right again.

  • 3 tbsps water (add a little bit more if you like it a runnier consistency)

  • Add all of the ingredients except the water into a jar or a small bowl.
  • Add a tablespoon of water and stir gently to incorporate all of the ingredients. Repeat this with the remaining 2 tablespoons of water and add an extra tablespoon if you like a runnier consistency.
